2018 Message from Kyoshi/Master Marc Toussaint

A message from Kyoshi/Master Marc Toussaint,

2018 has been a very big year for all of us at All Active Martial Arts and all our students, with each of   our six systems growing.

All Active Martial Arts now have 35 Black Belts across all our systems that are currently training , many of which are working with our students as assistant instructors.

2018 saw us hold four Kidz Karate and Zen Do Kai Gradings, one every 10 weeks at the end of each school term. This has been a first for AAMA, in the nearly 7 years we have operated at our Epping Club.

We held monthly Black Belt, Assistant Instructor and Instructor training sessions as well as putting on a Flight Night on the second Friday of each month for anyone who would have liked to test themselves.

We saw a large number of students grade for their next belt or rank throughout the year and we must say the standard in ALL Gradings was very high! So all of you who did grade this year should be very proud of yourselves! All the Instructors here at AAMA are very proud of your achievement and progress!

It was great to see students who may not have had their time up to grade for the next rank, come in to support their fellow students who were grading - and that in itself is what we are all about!

We also saw some of our Eskrima members go over to the 15th World Eskrima Kali Arnis Federation (WEKAF) Championships in Lahaina, Maui Hawaii, USA from July 18 - 23, 2018! Even though the guys didn’t come home with Gold this time around, they all did very well and didn’t hold back, with more than one of the guys from the USA feeling the hits from our guys.

I spent some time traveling around the state to deliver a seminar or two in Eskrima.

We saw Renshi Cam achieve his 4 th degree in Zen Do Kai in October. Renshi showed us what hard work and commitment can achieve!!

On the 1 st December we had our last Kidz Karate, Zen Do Kai and Muay Thai Grading for 2018, followed by our first Awards Night. Our Awards night was a great success, with all profits contributing toward buying a life-saving defibrillator for our training centre.

In 2019 All Active Martial Arts members will have exclusive access to our website’s student portal. Every student will be able to take advantage of our online video and written content to enhance your training experience and help you all practice at home.

All Active will also be holding the Australian WEKAF National Tournament in July 2019. This is also a warm up to the World WEKAF Tournament in Cebu Philippines for anyone who wants to make the trip to Cebu in August 2019.

We want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year.

Classes will resume at AAMA on Monday 7 th Jan 2019 as per our regular timetable.

Thank you all for your support over 2018 and looking forward to seeing you all on the mat in 2019!
