Blitz Magazine Photo Shoot

Posted by Damian Wilson> on Friday, October 17, 2014

Hi All,

As most of you are aware, the next issue of Blitz Magazine is going to feature our very own Head Instructor Kyoshi Marc Toussaint.

Today we had Blitz Magazine come to All-Active Martial Arts (Epping) to complete the photo shoot for the upcoming December issue. A series of photos and videos were taken of Kyoshi Marc as he demonstrated the principles of Doce Pares Eskrima, which is one of the systems that is currently being taught at All-Active Martial Arts.

We look forward to the upcoming issues.

Australian Martial Arts Championships

Posted by Damian Wilson> on Monday, October 13, 2014

Last Sunday was the State Finals for the Australian Martial Arts Championships. This tournament circuit is one that we have not yet entered. Dai Sempai Damian went along to see how it was run, whether is was a professional organisation and if our students would like to start competing in. From what he saw, this event is similar to the NAS tournament that we already compete in, although there were smaller numbers on Sunday, but this is definitely something that we will want our students to have a go at. As with the NAS tournament, there are several events that we could attend.

Dai Sempai Damian will be looking into our students competing in this and other tournaments for next year.

Could ALL students interested in competing in tournament please let Dai Sempai Damian know, so we know what sort of numbers we have and can begin tournament training.

The State Grading is fast approaching.  For those of you who are new to AAMA and BJMA, all senior students attempting the black belt grading or higher are required to be tested in front of their peers at the state grading. This is a great opportunity to come and meet Soke Bob Jones, other high ranking BJMA Instructors and make new friends.

Victorian State Grading:

SPRINGERS LEISURE CENTRE

400 CHELTENHAM ROAD, KEYSBOROUGH, VIC, 3173, Australia

Time: 9.00am-5.00pm

Hope to see some of you there

Surprise Visit

Posted by Damian Wilson> on Tuesday, October 07, 2014

On Tuesday (7/10/14) we were lucky to receive a surprise visit from Soke Bob Jones ( 9th Dan - Founder of Zen Do Kai).

Everyone was honoured to be able to meet and speak with Soke Bob Jones, and some were lucky enough to have their photos taken with him.

We hope this will become a regular occurrence and look forward to his next visit.

This is a map of all of the locations from where the All-Active Martial Arts Website has been viewed. It is great to see that martial artists outside of Australia and New Zealand are aware of our club.

Quote of the Month

Posted by Damian Wilson> on Monday, October 06, 2014

"In Karate our goal is for every one of our students to have a strong character

and to have the successful life of a good person;

this is the core of our way,

our Samurai Spirit".

Dave Kovar's Instructor College

Posted by Damian Wilson> on Monday, October 06, 2014

On Sunday, Kyoshi Marc and myself were fortunate enough to attend a one day workshop run by Dave Kovar (http://www.kovarsystems.com/about-dave-kovar). It was really inspiring to be taught by a master trainer and to realise that we had already implemented many of his teaching tips for teaching a successful class.

We were also honoured to have Soke Bob Jones (9th Degree- founder of Zen Do Kai) and Kyoshi Billy Manne (8th Degree) come in to support this event. We (Kyoshi Marc and myself) were also honoured to have the opportunity to speak at length with Soke Bob Jones and his ideas for the future of BJMA.

We hope to invite Soke Bob Jones down to AAMA to speak with our students in the future.
