This month saw All-Active Martial Arts and Doce Pares Australia Director Master Marc Toussaint coordinate a training camp to Doce Pares World Headquarters in Cebu City, Philippines. A group of 18 Filipino Martial Arts students and Eskrima Doce Pares practitioners from all around Australia, including 10 All-Active Martial Arts Eskrima students, traveled to Cebu for a two-week training camp and unforgettable cultural experience.
This year's training camp to Doce Pares HQ provided the Australian Eskrimadors with the opportunity to learn Filipino Eskrima-Arnis-Kali from Doce Pares Masters, Grand Masters and Supreme Grand Master Dionisio A. Canete, at the very home of the Doce Pares Multi-Styles system of Eskrima-Kali-Arnis.
In addition to undertaking invaluable training at Doce Pares HQ in Cebu City, the Doce Pares Australia members and All-Active Martial Arts students also experienced special training at Badian Beach, sight-seeing, historical and cultural enrichment, canyoneering, traditional dining, entertainment and the most welcoming and friendly Filipino hospitality!
All participants received official recognition from Doce Pares World Headquarters for participating in the two-week training camp and presented with certificates. Three training camp members also had the opportunity to have their skills officially recognized when they successfully completed an official grading for international ranking at Doce Pares HQ. Two of our very own All-Active Martial Arts' Eskrima students were successful in achieving their International First Grade Black Belt ranking.
Master Marc Toussaint will be attending the 2019 SEA Games this November after having been invited to take part as a judge in the Arnis event category. The South East Asian Games are a biennial multi-sport event involving participants from 11 Southeast Asian countries. To be hosted by the Philippines in 2019, the SEA Games are regulated by the Southeast Asian Games Federation and supervised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Olympic Council of Asia.
Master Toussaint and several of our students also plan to attend the 2020 World Eskrima Kali Arnis Federation (WEKAF) World Championships in the Philippines in July 2020, after having successfully qualified to take part in a number of events at this year’s Australian WEKAF Championships!
All-Active Martial Arts are very proud of our ongoing association with Doce Pares Australia and Doce Pares HQ in Cebu City, Philippines. As Doce Pares Australia Director, Master Marc Toussaint hopes to offer future groups the opportunity to experience the invaluable training and enriching culture of the Philippines by coordinating regular training camps to Doce Pares World Headquarters.

A message from Kyoshi/Master Marc Toussaint,
2018 has been a very big year for all of us at All Active Martial Arts and all our students, with each of our six systems growing.
All Active Martial Arts now have 35 Black Belts across all our systems that are currently training , many of which are working with our students as assistant instructors.
2018 saw us hold four Kidz Karate and Zen Do Kai Gradings, one every 10 weeks at the end of each school term. This has been a first for AAMA, in the nearly 7 years we have operated at our Epping Club.
We held monthly Black Belt, Assistant Instructor and Instructor training sessions as well as putting on a Flight Night on the second Friday of each month for anyone who would have liked to test themselves.
We saw a large number of students grade for their next belt or rank throughout the year and we must say the standard in ALL Gradings was very high! So all of you who did grade this year should be very proud of yourselves! All the Instructors here at AAMA are very proud of your achievement and progress!
It was great to see students who may not have had their time up to grade for the next rank, come in to support their fellow students who were grading - and that in itself is what we are all about!
We also saw some of our Eskrima members go over to the 15th World Eskrima Kali Arnis Federation (WEKAF) Championships in Lahaina, Maui Hawaii, USA from July 18 - 23, 2018! Even though the guys didn’t come home with Gold this time around, they all did very well and didn’t hold back, with more than one of the guys from the USA feeling the hits from our guys.
I spent some time traveling around the state to deliver a seminar or two in Eskrima.
We saw Renshi Cam achieve his 4th degree in Zen Do Kai in October. Renshi showed us what hard work and commitment can achieve!!
On the 1st December we had our last Kidz Karate, Zen Do Kai and Muay Thai Grading for 2018, followed by our first Awards Night. Our Awards night was a great success, with all profits contributing toward buying a life-saving defibrillator for our training centre.
In 2019 All Active Martial Arts members will have exclusive access to our website’s student portal. Every student will be able to take advantage of our online video and written content to enhance your training experience and help you all practice at home.
All Active will also be holding the Australian WEKAF National Tournament in July 2019. This is also a warm up to the World WEKAF Tournament in Cebu Philippines for anyone who wants to make the trip to Cebu in August 2019.
We want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year.
Classes will resume at AAMA on Monday 7th Jan 2019 as per our regular timetable.
Thank you all for your support over 2018 and looking forward to seeing you all on the mat in 2019!

All-Active Martial Arts' next Kidz Karate 4-week Beginner course is starting next week on Tuesday 12th June, at 5:00pm. It's not too late to secure a place.
Our 4-week Beginner course cycles usually operate on Mondays at 5pm, however due to the Queen’s Birthday Public Holiday this Monday, the first session will run on Tuesday instead.
The 4-week Kidz Karate Beginner course is designed to introduce basic foundation skills in Freestyle Karate and prepare our youngest members for the Kidz Karate program. (Ages 5-9).
We find that new students are less overwhelmed and tend to maintain higher levels of attention and focus when starting out with a smaller group of similarly aged beginners.
The Beginner course offers 4 x 45 minute lessons over 4 weeks and includes a complete karate uniform, for just $90, providing a great opportunity for kids to try out Karate for the first time.
Please contact us with any questions, or to secure a place in the course! We are also accepting registrations and providing uniforms at the club this Saturday morning between 9.30am and 1.00pm.
