
The World Eskrima Kali Arnis Federation (WEKAF) exists to promote the Filipino martial art of stick fighting and is the parent body behind the tournaments conducted in many countries.
Today, WEKAF includes over thirty countries and has a very large following.
World tournaments are conducted every two years alternating between the Philippines and an overseas member country.
WEKAF Australia is the Australian body for WEKAF (World Eskrima Kali Arnis Federation) and the organisation responsible for coordinating membership and participation in the sport of FMA weapons sparring (sticks, knife, bangkaw and padded weapons) and tournaments nationally and internationally for Australian participants.
TOURNAMENTS
WEKAF Australia holds a number of local tournaments and events throughout the year. If you are interested in hosting a WEKAF event at your club, please contact us to discuss how we can work together to promote this exciting competitive Filipino martial art throughout the martial arts community in Australia!

WEKAF AUSTRALIA 2025 STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Registration for 2025 WEKAF Australia State Championships is now open! State Championships are the first National Qualifiers for the 2026 WEKAF World Championship, and will run simultaneously in both Victoria and Queensland on Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th November 2025.

Sat 6th September: WEKAF Local Tournament
WEKAF Australia, the national representative organisation for Filipino Martial Arts competition sports in Australia (knife point, padded point, live stick-single & double and bangkaw categories), is hosting a local tournament at All Active Martial Arts in Epping VIC at 12pm, Saturday 6th September 2025.
The 6 September local tournament will cover Bangkaw and Knife Point events.
The event is open to all with an interest in martial arts and weapons sparring, and will be a good run-through of these events for anyone interested in competing in the VIC State Tournament this November.

WEKAF 2026 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
ANNOUNCEMENT: Congratulations to ROMANIA for winning the opportunity to host the 2026 WEKAF World Championships!
Following three bids for the 2026 Worlds (from India, Romania, and USA) each country's proposals were reviewed and a vote was taken by the WEKAF Country Directors. The results were very close, with Romania emerging the winner.

WEKAF 2024 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
21-28 JULY 2024
MANDAUE CITY CULTURAL & SPORTS COMPLEX, CEBU, PHILIPPINES
The 17th WEKAF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS took place on the 21st - 28th July 2024 at the Mandaue City Cultural & Sports Complex, Cebu, Philippines.
16 Competitors from QLD, WA and VIC made up Team Australia 2024, traveling to Cebu to take part in this year's international tournament, where they were joined by over 300 competitors from all around the world.
The Australian team showed outstanding skill, strength and sportsmanship, achieving a medal count of 39 and 4th place overall in the world with 8 Gold Medals, 7 Silver and 24 Bronze.
